A little about the riding

The New York DEC says Wilmington Wild Forest has two mountain-bike trail networks, the Wilmington Flume and Beaver Brook networks, with easy, moderate, and hard trails, and a trailhead along Route 86 in the Town of Wilmington. The page says those forest trails are free to use and does not describe a lift on them.

Trail network. The biking section describes the Wilmington Flume network and the Beaver Brook network, also called the Hardy Road network, each as 9.4 miles of mountain-bike trails with easy, moderate, and hard ratings. The hiking section describes the Flume network as 11.5 miles for mountain biking and hiking. The page also describes Poor Man's Downhill, a single 2.5-mile trail whose lower parking is on private property, and says the Town of Wilmington runs a summer shuttle on that trail. A fee for other trails and the gondola at the adjacent Whiteface Mountain Ski Area was not filed on this record. The page does not describe a lift on the forest networks.
